Are you interested in enrolling in the STAPS department at the University of Montpellier?

Admission requirements vary depending on the level of study:

Please note:

  • Administrative registration following a favorable recommendation from an academic committee will be possible provided that the degree currently under review is granted.
  • Degrees awarded outside Europe for candidates residing in Europe must be recognized through a degree equivalency assessment or ahttps://staps.edu.umontpellier.fr/scolarite/validation-des-acquis-vae-vap/(VES)
  • Non-European students who hold a non-European degree and do not reside in Europe should visit the International Relations page (https://staps.edu.umontpellier.fr/international/)
  • If it has been more than two years since you left the university, or if you are currently employed or looking for a job, you must contact the Continuing Education Office in addition to submitting your online application; they will handle your administrative registration (sfc-inscription@umontpellier.fr).
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered
  • All documents must be submitted exclusively through the platforms

Admissions to thefirst year of a bachelor's degree program (L1)

PARCOURSUP APP

Target audience: REQUIRED for recent high school graduates and applicants seeking to change their academic track without interrupting their university studies

Applicants must confirm their acceptance of the admission offer on Parcoursup; failure to do so will result in the loss of their admission status. Without this confirmation, applicants will not be able to complete their official registration.

SPECIAL CASE

Target audience: Employees and job seekers who have been out of school for more than two years: These candidates are eligible for continuing education

Applications must be submitted no later than Monday, June 1, 2026, along with the following documents, to the UFR Administration (subject line: Continuing Education Application 26/27 – [Name]):

  • Cover letter outlining your career plans
  • Detailed resume
  • Transcripts / Degrees Earned
  • Experience related to physical activity and sports (certificates of completion, coaching experience, degrees, other credentials, etc.), level of personal athletic ability (official documentation verifying the level)

At the same time, applicants should contact the continuing education department, which is available to provide quotes and finalize registration once admission has been confirmed.


DEUST admissions

Applications for admission to thefirst year of the DEUST program are submitted through Parcoursup for new high school graduates and students seeking to change their academic track.

Applications for admission to thesecond year of the DEUST program are submitted through eCandidat (blue database).

The link to access the eCandidat application will be available from Friday, May 1, 2026, through Monday, June 1, 2026.

Applications are reviewed online by the academic committees.
Final decisions will be available on the applications.

Applicants must confirm their acceptance of the admission offer on Parcoursup or eCandidat; failure to do so will result in the loss of their admission status. Without this confirmation, applicants will not be able to complete the registration process.

ADMISSIONS to thesecond year of the Bachelor's degree (L2) for students who passed some courses but failed others in the PASS program

Target audience: Students at the University of Montpellier who passed the entrance exam for the PASS program but did not apply through Ecandidat

Please complete the application and submit it by August at the latest (exact date to be announced) to the UFR Administration(subject line: PASS 26/27 application – [your name])


Admission tothe second orthird year of a bachelor’s degree program (L2–L3) or tothe second year of a master’s degree program ( M2)

All applications for admission to the second year of a bachelor’s program, the third year of a bachelor’s program, or the second year of a master’s program must be submitted online via the eCandidat (blue database).

ADMISSIONS to the3rd year of the Professional Bachelor's Degree (LPro GDOSSL)

All applications for admission to the LPro program must be submitted online via the eCandidat application (Base Rouge).

Admissions to the first year of the master's program (M1)



If you hold (or are working toward) a national bachelor’s degree or another degree that qualifies you for a master’s program, you must use the new national application platform to apply for the first year of a national master’s degree program

Since the admission process for the first year of the Master’s program is a national one, you can find all the necessary information on theMon Master website.

Be sure to check the University of Montpellier’s Master’s program page regularly to stay informed about the application process.

Some programs will require you to submit the document “Notice of Continued Studies” when applying on the MonMaster platform. This document may be required for your application to be accepted. Please complete the section pertaining to you and return the form to the following address: staps-master@umontpellier.fr by March 2, 2026.
