Adapted Physical Activity and Health
RAPA Program: Rehabilitation Through Adapted Physical Activities
The Master’s 2 program in “Rehabilitation through Adapted Physical Activities (RAPA)” is designed to train physical activity specialists in supporting individuals with chronic illnesses or disabilities. Graduates of the program are prepared for roles as APA professionals within the health, medical-social, and social sectors. By using APA as a primary means of engaging biopsychosocial resources, they contribute to the individual’s life plan through a comprehensive rehabilitation approach.
Prevention, Health Education, and Physical Activity Program (PESAP)
The "Prevention, Health Education, and Physical Activity" (PESAP) program is designed to train future leaders in the field of health promotion. More specifically, participants are trained to use physical activity as a tool to advance health promotion, taking into account individuals’ sense of commitment to their physical activity practices. Ultimately, the program aims to provide the skills necessary to create conditions conducive to public health in all areas of people’s lives, particularly regarding lifestyle choices and the role of physical activity.
Health Management Through Physical Activity for Older Adults (GESAPPA) Program
Following a first year of the Master’s 1 program shared with the RAPA track, the Master’s 2 GESAPPA track, “Health Management Through Physical Activity for Older Adults,” aims to train physical activity professionals who specialize in supporting independent or dependent older adults.
Training and Performance Optimization
Physical Conditioning and Rehabilitation Program (PPR)
The PPR program is designed to train future physical conditioning professionals for the public and private sectors. Graduates of the program are qualified to design, oversee, implement, and evaluate physical conditioning programs, drawing on both practical experience in the field and multidisciplinary scientific approaches aligned with current technological advancements.
Science and Technology Track in Psychological Preparation and Coaching (PsyCoach)
The PsyCoach program aims to train professional sports coaching executives capable of applying scientific knowledge and practical skills to enhance performance. Graduates serve in strategic and operational leadership roles within organizations dedicated to guiding and supporting athletes through sports psychology intervention programs at sports institutions (federations, clubs), local governments, companies, service-providing associations, sports medicine centers, and private paramedical practices.

Sports Tourism Management Track (MTS)
The M.T.S. Master's program provides knowledge, expertise, and skills in the interconnected fields of management, tourism, and sports and recreation.
The MTS program provides students with a foundational understanding of sports science as well as knowledge specific to sports tourism. It prepares students for their transition into the workforce through hands-on experience with professionals. An active, innovative teaching approach focused on professional development:
More than 50% of the course hours are taught by professionals working in the field,
Appropriate teaching methods: case studies, group work, role-playing exercises,
Field studies conducted as part of the training (audits, feasibility studies, etc.)
ENGINEERING AND ERGONOMICS OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The rise of digital technology and artificial intelligence is creating a need within industry and education to train senior executives in research and development to design digital solutions for sports and health. The Master’s program in Sports Science, Engineering, and Ergonomics of Physical Activity (IEAP) in Montpellier addresses this need for a human-centered digital transition in the fields of sports and health.
The Digital and Movement Sciences for Health (DigiMove) Program
It trains researchers with advanced skills to manage basic research or R&D projects in digital and motion sciences, with applications in the fields of health and sports.
The Sports, Health, and Artificial Intelligence (2SIA) Track
It trains engineering specialists with advanced skills in the design of products and services that integrate digital and motion sciences for applications in the fields of health and sports.

Curriculum & Skills Acquired
- First year: Generalized thematic knowledge (60 hours), tools and languages, specialized courses, internship preparation, internship.
- Second year: Depending on the specialization, theoretical knowledge, understanding of the professional environment, methodology, preparation for the internship, internship.
Training Programs
- Initial training: Depending on the specialty, 630 to 960 hours of classroom instruction + 320 to 700 hours of internship

- Apprenticeship/work-study programs are available for APAS master’s students (PESAP, RAPA, and GESAPPA tracks), MS students, and second-year students only in the EOPS PPR track.

- Master’s 2: automatically (subject to completion of the Master’s 1), or subject to certain conditions (change of major or application from outside the university).

- PhD, particularly upon completion of the IEAP-Digimove program.
