The STAPS master's degree

  • Level 7 certification (Bac+5): 4 semesters - 120 credits (ECTS)

Teaching content & Skills acquired

  • 1st year: Generalized thematic knowledge (60h), tools and languages, specialization courses, internship preparation, internship.
  • 2nd year: Depending on the specialization, theoretical knowledge, knowledge of the professional environment, methodology, preparation for internship, internship.

Training systems

  • Initial training: Depending on specialization, 630h to 960h of teaching + 320h to 700h of internship
  • Continuing education: Registration and information from the Continuing Education Department-UM
  • Apprenticeship/alternative training for APAS masters (PESAP, RAPA, GESAPPA courses), MS and 2nd year only, EOPS STEP course.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master 1: application via MonMaster
  • Master 2: automatic (subject to validation of Master 1), or subject to conditions (change of major or application from outside the UM).

Further studies

  • PhDparticularly at the end of the STM course.

Professional integration

  • Higher education establishments, research, research and development, prevention, integration, rehabilitation or leisure or sports tourism organizations, sports institutions, local authorities, private practices.

RAPA pathway: Rehabilitation through Adapted Physical Activities

The Master 2 "Rehabilitation through Adapted Physical Activities" (RAPA) program is designed to train physical activity managers specializing in supporting chronically ill or disabled populations. Graduates are destined for positions as APA managers in the health, medical-social and social sectors. Using APA as a privileged means of soliciting biopsychosocial resources, they participate in the person's life project through a global rehabilitation approach.

Prevention, Health Education, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY (PESAP) pathway

The "Prevention, Health Education, Physical Activity" (PESAP) course is designed to qualify future managers in the field of health promotion. More specifically, they are trained to use physical activity as a lever for health promotion, taking into account the sense of commitment of individuals in their practices. Ultimately, the training program is designed to provide the skills needed to create conditions conducive to the health of populations in all areas of their lives, particularly in terms of lifestyles and the role of physical activity.

Following on from the first year of Master 1, which is shared with the RAPA course, the GESAPPA Master 2 course "Health management through physical activity for the elderly" aims to train physical activity managers specializing in supporting independent or dependent populations as they age.

The STM course is aimed at STAPS students, as well as those from a variety of scientific disciplines and engineering schools. It is also open to doctors and students with a health background who are interested in research into human movement, particularly biomechanics (surgeons of all specialties, physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors, sports medicine doctors, rheumatologists, etc.). The aim of this course is to train research professionals in the field of movement at the crossroads of science and technology.

Physical preparation and reathletization course (ppr)

The aim of the PPR course is to qualify future managers in physical preparation for the federal and private sectors. The diploma holder is responsible for the design, management, implementation and assessment of physical preparation intervention programs, based both on shared experience in the field and on multi-disciplinary scientific approaches in line with current technological developments.

Science and Techniques of Psychological Preparation and Coaching course (PsyCoach)

The aim of the PsyCoach program is to train sports coaching professionals capable of applying scientific knowledge and know-how to enhance performance. Graduates work as strategic and operational managers in organizations whose vocation is to coach and monitor athletes during sports psychology intervention programs in sports institutions (federations, clubs), local authorities, companies, service-providing associations, sports medicine centers and private paramedical practices.

Sports Tourism Management course (MTS)

The Master M.T.S. provides knowledge, know-how and skills in the interconnected fields of management, tourism and sports leisure.

The MTS pathway provides a knowledge base in Sports Science, as well as knowledge specific to Sports Tourism. It prepares students to enter the world of work in contact with professionals. An active, innovative teaching approach geared towards professionalization:

Over 50% of teaching hours are given by professionals working in the sector,
