Training and Research Committee (CFR)

The Training and Research Committee (CFR) is the body responsible for supporting and guiding the STAPS Department’s decisions regarding research, particularly as it relates to education. The CFR’s proposals must then be approved by the Management Council.

Chaired by the associate director for research, the CFR brings together faculty members (elected representatives), academic representatives, doctoral students (elected representatives), and external experts.

Its responsibilities include:
Serving as a link between research and education;
Proposing recruitment priorities;
Supporting research projects carried out within the academic unit.

Committees for the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The committees for the Recognition of Prior Learning are authorized to award applicants all or part of a degree by recognizing their professional experience. This makes it possible to have one’s experience and skills acquired outside of a university setting recognized in order to obtain the corresponding degrees.

The first step in submitting an application for the Recognition of Prior Learning program is to contact the University of Montpellier’s Joint Continuing Education Office.

Active Guidance Committee

The Active Career Guidance Committee is responsible for assisting high school and college students with their career choices. Its scope extends far beyond the official active career guidance protocol for high school students. Originally created to provide guidance to first-year college students who were struggling academically, it now carries out a variety of tasks:

  • Informing high school students about educational opportunities in sports and physical activity
  • Support for students who have failed to meet academic requirements at the end of a semester
  • Guidance for students at key stages of their academic journey (transition from the third year of undergraduate studies to the first year of graduate studies, and from the first to the second year of graduate studies)
