Day dedicated to safety before the winter season

  • Type of event : Information day
  • Dates : November 23, 2024
  • Opening hours: 9h00 - 17h30
  • Location: UFR STAPS Montpellier

To raise awareness among winter and mountain sports enthusiasts of the risks associated with snow and avalanches, the Occitanie regional committee of French alpine and mountain clubs(CROFFCAM) organizes an annual safety day prior to the winter season. Previously held in Tarbes and Toulouse, this event will be held for the first time in Montpellier on November 23 at the UFR STAPS.

Organized by CROFFCAM in collaboration with the Association nationale pour l'étude de la neige et des avalanches (Anena) and the Club alpin français de Montpellier, the Snow and Avalanche Safety Day(JSNA) is a full day of information and exchanges on the dangers of snow and avalanches, as well as on safety and prevention techniques to make skiers and snowboarders more autonomous and responsible.

As the mountains are a dynamic environment, it's crucial to regularly update your knowledge. This event is a great opportunity for all mountaineers, whatever their level, to familiarize themselves with the best safety practices.
