The University of Montpellier, the UFR STAPS and the SantesiH laboratory are pleased to invite you to a lecture by Prof. Martin Giese entitled "Mapping exclusion mechanisms in the context of inclusive physical education".

The aim of this conference will be to present, based on the experience of visually impaired students, the obstacles to inclusive physical and sports education and the associated structural challenges.

The conference will take place on Monday, October 23, 2023 in the P1 amphitheater of Montpellier's UFR STAPS, from 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm. The presentation will be given in English with French translation. Access is free of charge.


"Mapping the grammar of exclusion in the context of inclusion and PE.
International research shows that students with disabilities face multiple barriers in inclusive physical education. From the subjective perspective of these students, inclusive experiences are often not accessible to them. Using the example of physical education with blind students, the lecture shows which barriers are named in detail and which structural challenges are associated with inclusive physical education and why.



Martin Giese is Professor at Heidelberg University of Education, and his research interests include sports and physical activity pedagogy, inclusive teaching and adapted physical activity.
