French University Gymnastics Championships 2024

A full house for teams from the University of Montpellier!

The French University Gymnastics Championships took place on March 13 and 14, 2024 in Villeurbanne. Montpellier University returned with medals in every discipline it contested.

On Wednesday, the Teamgym team (which includes mixed floor with 12 gymnasts, tumbling and mini trampoline) finished with a silver medal.

In the highest trampoline category (N1), Julien Alric (L1 STAPS) finished silver, 0.1 points off the gold medal.

On Thursday, it was the turn of men's and women's gymnastics.

The Montpellier women's team (made up of STAPS students Jade Denis and Delphine Hund in L2, and Hania Iouissaidan and Oceane Arnould in L3) finished as French champions!

The boys took third place on the podium. Despite a fall, Mattéo Clary (L3) won a bronze medal on individual pommel horse.

French Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Strasbourg

The harvest of medals for the University of Montpellier continues in gymnastics, this time it's the turn of rhythmic gymnastics (RG).

The French RG championships were held in Strasbourg on March 21. Emma Bouremel (L2 STAPS) and Marie Navone (Master MEEF) were crowned French Duo champions, ahead of two Strasbourg teams who were home favourites. Our Montpellier girls put on a flawless routine that had the entire hall in raptures. A second Duo from Montpellier's L1 STAPS finished in 4th place.

Congratulations on these excellent performances.
