2025 French University Gymnastics Championships

The French University Gymnastics Championships were held on May 14 and 15 in Pessac (Bordeaux). UM gymnasts qualified in every discipline at these championships. The men’s gymnastics team is the French champion (featuring Matys Precloux, Matteo Clary, Louis Florus, and Axel Bourdon). The top three gymnasts are from the UFR STAPS.

The Teamgym team (a discipline that includes a mixed floor exercise routine performed by 12 gymnasts, a tumbling routine, and a mini-trampoline routine) is also the French champion! The team consists of 12 gymnasts from the UFR STAPS, including 4 men and 8 women.

In women’s gymnastics, although they didn’t bring home any medals this year, they certainly held their own. For the first time, we had two teams qualify. One team in Division 2 finished 4th, just off the podium and less than a point behind third place, and one team in Division 1 finished 5th. With the exception of one gymnast, all are from the UFR STAPS.

We also had a representative from the UFR STAPS in the trampoline event (Julien Alric), who finished in 5th place.

Congratulations to all these gymnasts, who also earned the praise of the best fans (both for their sportsmanship and their loud cheering).
