2025 French University Gymnastics Championships
On May 14 and 15, the French University Gymnastics Championships were held in Pessac (Bordeaux). UM gymnasts qualified in each of the disciplines at these championships. The men's gymnastics team are French champions (with Matys Precloux, Matteo Clary, Louis Florus, and Axel Bourdon). The first three are from the UFR STAPS.
The Teamgym team (a discipline that includes a mixed floor exercise involving 12 gymnasts, a tumbling event, and a mini trampoline event) is also French champion! It is made up of 12 gymnasts from the UFR STAPS, including 4 men and 8 women.
In women's gymnastics, although they did not bring home any medals this year, they did not disappoint either. For the first time, we had two teams qualify. One team in N2 finished fourth, just shy of the podium and less than a point behind third place, and one team in N1 finished fifth. With the exception of one gymnast, all are from the UFR STAPS.
We also had a representative from the UFR STAPS on the trampoline (Julien Alric), who finished 5th.
Congratulations to all these gymnasts, who also earned praise from the best supporters (both for their fair play and their vocal presence).
