Information on Enrollment in the First Year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science

Which subjects should I take in the baccalaureate to pursue a degree in Sports Science?

All STAPS programs in France have decided to adopt a common policy that does not favor one academic track over another for admission to STAPS. In fact, students with either a science-oriented or a humanities-oriented background have an equal chance of success in STAPS.

Admission to healthcare professions: Medicine, Midwifery, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy (MMOP-K)

In the first year of undergraduate studies, admission is granted following a selection process (selective program) through Parcours Sup in the following independent tracks:

LAS1 STAPS: 10 spots available at the start of the academic year; applications accepted at the end of the academic year, subject to verification of prerequisites, for Medicine, Midwifery, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy (MMOP-K)

LAK1 STAPS: 50 spots available at the start of the academic year; applications are accepted only at the end of the academic year, subject to prerequisites. For Physical Therapy: at least 20 spots available for the IFMK.

In the second year, the following is offered

LAS2 STAPS: for former LAS1 STAPS students who have successfully completed their first year of STAPS or PASS (following selective admission to STAPS for former PASS students via e-candidat). Applications are accepted for MMOP-K programs

LAK2 STAPS: For former LAK1 STAPS students who have successfully completed their first year of STAPS. Applications are accepted at the end of the academic year, subject to fulfillment of prerequisites, and are limited to the Physical Therapy program.

Students enrolled in the LAS and LAK programs take all of the STAPS courses.
In the LAS program, students must also take and passTU CommuneTU offered by PASS Montpellier.

Please note that enrollment in the STAPS program (traditional track, excluding LAS and LAK) does not qualify you to apply to health-related programs.
