Pink October

Pink October is an annual global communications campaign designed to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and raise funds for research.

The University of Montpellier and the UFR STAPS are mobilizing as part of the "Pink October" campaign, holding a number of events for students and staff.

Students in the UFR's PESAP master's program are heavily involved in this action, as it is fully in line with the theme of their training.

Simple gestures that can save lives

From the age of 25, annual gynecological check-ups are recommended.

For the sake of your health, consider scheduling a clinical examination of your breasts by a healthcare professional, such as a general practitioner, gynecologist or midwife. Follow-up by a midwife is entirely possible, even without gynecological pathology. In addition to this appointment, we recommend that you regularly observe your breasts and practice self-monitoring.

This procedure should be discussed and learned with your healthcare professional. Regular breast self-monitoring is essential to detect any abnormalities as early as possible. The earlier a diagnosis is made, the lighter the treatment and the greater the chances of recovery.

Regularly, a few days after your period, get into the habit of self-examination!

Self-monitoring and palpation should not replace mammography. They are complementary, depending on age and level of risk.
